Over 50% of produced food goes unused, while 10% of people experience ongoing food insecurity. Reducing food waste, feeding people, and repairing the system are the heart of ReFeed’s mission. ReFeed relies on GrantMatch to help them propel their global mission forward.
ReFeed works with the food industry to collect unused food and food waste, directing it away from GHG-producing compost facilities and extracting all its usable nutrients.
ReFeed's custom worm beds provide the ideal environment for worms to consume food waste and turn it into nutrient-rich castings which can replace synthetic fertilizers.
ReFeed nourishes their community by turning food waste and excess food into healthy livestock feed, recovering nutrition, reducing waste, and in turn, nourishing the planet.
THE TEAM AT GRANTMATCH HAS ENABLED US TO ACCELERATE OUR MISSION FASTER THAN WE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT POSSIBLE. HAVING EXPERTS IN OUR CORNER TO WRITE WINNING GRANT APPLICATIONS, OFTENTIMES FOR PROGRAMS WE HAD NO IDEA EXISTED, HAS PROVEN TO BE AN INVALUABLE SERVICE.
At GrantMatch, we acknowledge that our headquarters are situated on the Treaty Lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, as well as the Traditional Territory of the Haudenosaunee, Huron-Wendat, and Anishinabek people. This land is covered by the “Dish With One Spoon” wampum agreement. We respectfully recognize that these lands’ original inhabitants and caretakers are First Nation and Métis people, and we are deeply grateful to be able to work on this land. As a remote team with employees across Turtle Island, also called North America, we would like to acknowledge the importance of the land that each of our team members calls home. GrantMatch actively encourages employees to learn about the history of the land on which they are situated and their local Indigenous peoples.
