To address these issues, the Wisconsin Agricultural Roads Improvement Program (ARIP) is offering a one-time $150 million enhancement to upgrade rural Class-B roads, weight-restricted roads, bridges, and culverts across the state. This funding presents a significant opportunity for local governments to improve road conditions and strengthen Wisconsin’s rural transportation networks.
ARIP provides grants covering up to 90% of project costs for eligible municipalities, counties, and local governments in Wisconsin. The goal of the program is to support infrastructure projects that enhance safety, efficiency, and accessibility for the agricultural and rural sectors.
Projects funded under ARIP can include:

✔ Upgrades to weight-restricted roads and bridges to accommodate heavier loads.

ARIP grants will be distributed through two funding intakes in 2025:
Applicants who previously applied for funding under the most recent round (separate from the $150M available in 2025) may have the opportunity to roll their applications forward into the next $50M intake for reconsideration.
