The Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund – Provincial and Territorial Delivery Stream – Nova Scotia (CHIF-PTDS-NS) delivers $170 million in funding over the next 10 years to enhance key infrastructure and unlock housing development potential across the province.

A Foundation for Housing Growth

This program targets the creation of enabling infrastructure that directly supports the supply of new and affordable housing. Eligible projects include:

  • Drinking Water Infrastructure: Treatment facilities, transmission systems, pump stations, and nature-based assets

  • Wastewater Infrastructure: Treatment and storage facilities, sewer systems, lagoon infrastructure, and lift stations

  • Stormwater Management: Drainage systems, stormwater facilities, and natural infrastructure solutions

  • Solid Waste Management: Projects involving landfills, sorting, organic processing, and thermal treatment systems
