Municipalities in Saskatchewan Can Now Apply for up to $10M in Funding to Support Local Infrastructure Projects

The deadline to submit applications for the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream is Friday, October 30, 2020.

 

Program Overview 

The governments of Canada and Saskatchewan signed a bilateral agreement in October 2018 for the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP). The program was designed to provide more than $896 million in federal funding for all types of Saskatchewan infrastructure projects over 10 years until 2028. Recently, the ICIP COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure stream has begun accepting applications. 

Funding Details

The ICIP COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream offers funding to support eligible  project costs ranging from $100,000 to $10M. Projects must begin before September 30, 2021, and completed no later than December 31, 2021. The following are eligible project categories: 

  • Retrofits, Repairs, and Upgrades for municipal, and Indigenous buildings, health and educational infrastructure 
  • COVID-19 Response Infrastructure, including measures to support physical distancing

  • Active Transportation Infrastructure, including parks, trails, foot bridges, bike lanes and multi use paths

  • Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation, including natural infrastructure, flood and fire mitigation, tree planting, and related infrastructure

Deadline

The deadline to submit applications for the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream is 4:30 p.m. (CST) on Friday, October 30, 2020.
