Waterloo Brewing Secures Funding to Boost Production, While Reducing  Carbon Footprint   

Waterloo Brewing is Ontario’s largest Canadian-owned brewery, producing over 11 million cases of product a year.  Through their partnership with GrantMatch, the brewery has secured significant  grant funding for projects that both benefit the environment and improve production capability.

Waterloo Brewing’s primary priority is to grow while remaining eco-friendly, so they have established a company-wide ethos committed to maintaining best practices while remaining on the forefront of the industry.
 
The Climate Change Mitigation and Low Carbon Economy Act represents a collaborative effort to reduce GHG emissions, which inspired Waterloo Brewing to invest in technology and processes that reduce the carbon footprint of their operations.
 

WATERLOO BREWING COUNTS ON GRANTMATCH TO HELP THEM SECURE FUNDING TO REDUCE THEIR CARBON FOOTPRINT AND BOOST PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES TO KEEP UP WITH GROWING DEMAND

Waterloo Brewing was approved for $414,830 in grant funding to upgrade their facility 

With the help of GrantMatch, Waterloo Brewing secured funding through the CME Smart Green Program for a new canning line pasteurizer that significantly reduced natural gas consumption. 
 
The brewery was also successful in securing funding through the Climate Action Incentive Fund to support an investment in a new compressed air system.

Waterloo Brewing was established in 1984 as Ontario’s first craft brewer and successfully diversified offerings to Ontario beer drinkers. They are credited with pioneering the present-day craft brewing renaissance. In their first year, Waterloo Brewing’s eight employees produced and shipped 35,000 cases of beer.
Over time, the Brewery has added several new brands of beer and expanded their facility to include a new state-of-the-art brewhouse and blending system in Kitchener-Waterloo.


Today, the company is Ontario’s largest Canadian-owned brewery, producing over 11 million cases of beer, ready-to-drink beverages, and cider products with leading-edge brewing, blending, and packaging capabilities.
