A Recovery Plan for Jobs, Growth, and Resilience

With Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland introduced the 2021 Federal Budget: A Recovery Plan for Jobs, Growth, and Resilience.

The Federal Government has focused on supports for Canadian businesses and resources as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. The budget outlines spending in areas that are essential to Canadian businesses: extending subsidies like CEWS, CEBA, CERS, and other regional relief and recovery funds. The budget details initiatives for businesses to recruit and train their workforce as well as support for adopting new technologies. We see efforts to include small businesses and entrepreneurs in substantial funding opportunities.

While Canada is facing a major deficit in these economically challenging times, GrantMatch is pleased to see programs that serve Canadian businesses and interests. Investments will be made in key sectors to support strategic innovation, enhance industrial research and tech start-ups, invigorate green jobs, regional development, culture and tourism, and more. Notably, the government has pledged funding toward the environment in the forms of tax incentives, resource protection, investments in clean energy, and agricultural technology and climate initiatives.

With the Federal Government’s investment in vital programs, GrantMatch will continue to be proactive, ensuring businesses find the funding opportunities to recover, expand, innovate, and build on their potential into the future.
