$500M in Funding is Available for Government Infrastructures Encouraging Canadians to Re-Engage with Their Communities Post-Pandemic 

Through The Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF), The Canadian Government will be investing $500M over the next 2 years to help communities nationwide build and improve community infrastructure projects to offset the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Eligible Applicants

  • Not-for-profit organizations or charities
  • Any municipal or regional government, or bodies providing infrastructure services to communities (e.g. municipalities, rural communities, local service districts, public-sector bodies)
  • Indigenous-led not-for-profits and organizations

 

ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES 

This fund will provide support to projects that:

  • Adapt community spaces and assets so that they may be used safely in accordance with local public-health guidelines
  • Build or improve community infrastructure, encouraging Canadians to re-engage in and explore their communities and regions

Eligible projects will be prioritized in the following order:
    • Revitalize downtown cores and main streets
    • Reinvent outdoor spaces
    • Create green infrastructure
    • Increase the accessibility of community spaces

 

Funding Details

  • Up to 75% of project costs are eligible for funding, with a maximum of $750,000
  • Indigenous not-for-profit organizations or community projects may be eligible for funding covering up to 100% of project cost
  • Funding will be disbursed through 2 application intake streams:

    1. Schedule Intake

      A one-time scheduled intake will focus on eligible projects that are ready to proceed. Assessment of applications will begin on July 23, 2021, 11:59 pm MDT. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their applications by this date.

    2. Continuous Intake

      Should there be remaining funding after the scheduled intake period, applications will continue to be accepted and funded on a continuous intake basis over the next two years or until the allocated funding is fully distributed.
