The smartgrowth program is available for innovative agriculture companies in southern ontario

 

funding details


The SmartGrowth Program, administered by BIOENTERPRISE, is available for innovative agriculture, agri-food and agri-tech companies in Southern Ontario who are interested in scaling-up and expanding. It is available for SMEs with innovative technologies that are aiming to embark upon projects that will accelerate business growth and profitability. It offers:

  • Up to $100,000 available in grant funding
  • 40% contribution rate
  • Coaching and mentorship support services

eligibility requirements 

To be considered eligible for the SmartGrowth Program, an enterprise must:

  • Be incorporated in Canada and have headquarters in Southern Ontario
  • Be for profit
  • Have technologies at or beyond Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7* stage of development 
  • Be part of the agri-technology sector 
  • Have a maximum of 499 employees while generating at least $200,000 in sales
  • Be a member of Canada's Food and Agri-Tech Engine 

 

To apply:

SMEs must complete the SmartGrowth Letter of Intent (LOI) from the Written Proposal Template and complete the LOI Intake Form. Only those who have had their LOIs approved will be eligible to complete a full application. 

The LOI submission deadline is on January 22, 2021
