$100 Million in Funding Available to Improve Community Accessibility

The Reconnecting Communities Pilot Program (RCP) aims to restore community connectivity by funding projects that remove, retrofit, or mitigate highways or other transportation facilities that create barriers. The program provides two types of grants:

  • Planning Grants: For studying the removal, retrofitting, or mitigation of existing facilities, conducting public engagement, and other transportation planning activities.
  • Capital Construction Grants: For carrying out projects to remove, retrofit, mitigate, or replace existing facilities with new ones that reconnect communities.
