Funding Support for the Hiring of Post-Secondary Students
Due to digital storefronts and e-commerce capabilities now being mainstream activities for many small businesses, the Canadian government is providing funding assistance to small and medium sized enterprises through the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP). CDAP will help SMEs boost their e-commerce presence and digitize their behind-the-scenes process by providing funding and advice to businesses, as well as training and work opportunities for young Canadians.
- Provide wage subsidies to employers that offer quality student work placements, and
- Create partnerships with colleges, universities, polytechnics and CEGEPs to recruit students for these placements
Funding is available through two streams
- Grow Your Business Online

- Will provide micro-grants to not-for-profit organizations seeking funding support to development and implementation of their e-commerce strategies
- Boost Your Business Technology

- Covering majority of the cost to develop a digital plan, this stream aims at assisting small manufacturing and food processing operations, to adopt new technologies and helps cover the costs of advisors who will help plan new digital solutions
