Now Open: Sustainable Growth and Adoption Program – Up to $100,000 in Agri-Tech Grant Funding

Bioenterprise Canada has launched the next intake of the Sustainable Growth and Adoption Program (SGAP), an initiative designed to accelerate the adoption of clean technologies across southern Ontario’s agri-food and agri-tech industries. With $6 million in available funding, this round is focused on helping innovation-driven businesses reduce their environmental footprint while scaling operations.

Successful applicants can receive non-repayable funding of up to $100,000 to implement clean technology projects that support long-term sustainability and competitiveness.

Key Program Details

  • Application Window: June 18 – August 6, 2025

  • Maximum Funding: Up to $100,000 per project

  • Cost Share: 60% applicant contribution, 40% SGAP-funded

  • Total Program Budget: $6 million

Eligible Activities

Funding supports projects that focus on implementing high-readiness clean technologies to improve environmental performance, operational efficiency, or sustainability practices. Eligible activities may include:

  • Clean tech adoption and implementation

  • Sustainability-focused equipment purchases

  • Feasibility assessments and technical consulting

  • Labour and support costs tied directly to the clean tech project

Who is Eligible to Apply?

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be incorporated in Canada

  • Operate and carry out the project in southern Ontario

  • Have a minimum of $200,000 in annual gross revenue

  • Be a for-profit or not-for-profit organization in the agri-food or agri-tech sectors

  • Partner with an approved Sustainability Project Partner

  • Adopt a clean technology that is at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7 or higher

  • Excludes restaurants, commercial kitchens, or unrelated food service providers
